On Tuesday, June 18, the Kiwanis Club of Pekin hosted the Ralph T. Brower Memorial Bike Rodeo at Pekin Boys and Girls Club. With 77 kids in attendance, 24 bicycles given away and a million smiles, this event continues to be a huge success. Every child was fitted for a new helmet, got to show their skills on the safety course and had the opportunity to connect with local first responders to learn more about how to stay safe in our community. Wrapping up the day with Kona Ice and pizza, the kids were quite delighted. 

Kiwanis Club of Pekin continues to find ways to serve the children of Pekin and beyond. A huge thank you to all the supporting agencies: Advanced Medical Transport, OSF HealthCare, Pekin Fire Department, Pekin Police Department, Illinois State Police, Pekin Boys and Girls Club and Illinois American Water for serving the kids of Pekin. Also, a special shout out to Ralph’s daughter, Janet Brower Mangold, for making time each year to come celebrate this wonderful day.
