PCHS SkillsUSA Local Students Win National Awards

CyberSecurity team of Carter Williamson and Ronan Scott (Red Blazers, centered).
Pekin Community High School had 10 students travel to Atlanta, Georgia from June 24th through June 29th representing the Career and Technical Education programs for the high school. Students qualify for the National Championships by winning their state competitions which ours was held back in April at the Peoria Civic Center. The National competition has representation from all 50 states as well a U.S. Territories so it’s a very diverse and a tough competition. All of our competitors finished in the top 20 in the nation and I’ve listed some of the top places.
The community and state was very well represented again this year by these students. Volunteer Advisors for the last ten years for the PCHS SkillsUSA team are Alyson Smith and Eric McCann.
Ronan Scott and Carter Williamson brought home Gold in Cybersecurity as a team of two. This was their second year competing as a team at the National level and have several other CyberSecurity accolades under their belt this year.
