Celebrating a Bicentennial Christmas

Pekin’s Friends In Harmony is honored to be the final special event of the year-long Pekin Bicentennial Celebration. They will perform their 2024 show, “Celebrating a Bicentennial Christmas,” December 13 at 7pm and December 14 at 2pm at Pekin Community High School. Under the direction of Kaleigh Christ, there will be Christmas favorites packaged with some choreography and dancing created by Choreographer Liz Waldschmidt. We guarantee it to be a fun-filled evening.
Friends In Harmony began in 2005 with a chorus of 16 singers who got together and created a Christmas show with no performance venue in mind. They found enough places to sing in the community to make a profit and gave their first donation of $2,000 back to the community. The following year they moved on stage and delivered a new show for all to enjoy. Now, with 33 singers and a great selection of music that will bring laughter, smiles, and maybe some nostalgia, we also look forward to our special guests, Terri Gambetti and Gary Gillis, who will wrap up Pekin’s exciting bicentennial year.
Friends In Harmony is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the arts in Pekin and the surrounding area. They have given $84,200 back to organizations such as PCHS choral, theater, and band programs, Pekin Park Amphitheater, the music program in Pekin Public Schools, and United Way.
